Jyoo I think you are right. $2.80/112.5 shares = .02488, I made it a percent instead of cents.

so 2.488 cents dividend on a present value of .24 cents is 10%+ yield.

jyyoo "Hopefully there's news soon because there won't be much interest in these shares without it." I think this is a logical conclusion. At the current price of SIAF I see little reason to choose the preferred shares over the ordinary shares.

I would also keep in mind even RD has become very bearish on the stock lately which if anything should be a buy signal.

Actually it is not a good sign when I become bearish on a Chinese stock because they all drop to zero.

But I'm not bearish here. For all I know the stock could "rally" to 50 cents on this news. But how does that help us if the potential is limited to $2 now? I just don't think that Solomon or the BOD is creating shareholder value in any way. They are still struggling, and they will be struggling 6 months down the road.
