I can't figure out exactly what the point of contention is between you guys. There's a kernel of an idea, but better to chance either of you may make just tell me. LOL
How do you infer that defense that you allege? Haven't read it from me, have you?
Do you believe that Chicago residents are all part time detectives, U.S. Attorneys, judges and juries?
Until someone is indicted what are we to go on?
My point REMAINS that Chicago is not unique nor uniquely corrupt, it's just bigger and richer than all but two other cities in the U.S.
It's ONE of the banks that Willy Sutton said he wanted to rob because....
And sure, law of averages, some Willy Suttons are elected Chicago aldermen and, sadly, IL governors. They DO get caught however. It's in all the papers.
I get that as a rural Illini you're upset. BUT you do get the largesse from the redistributed taxes from, again, the 3rd highest GDP of all metro areas in the U.S.
MOST Chicagoans are law abiding, working and paying taxes instead of trying to extort fast food franchise owners.
Not seeing the results you expected from that generous tax redistribution? Maybe there's some corruption in the LOCAL pipeline to your backyard, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse, doghouse and flooded cornfield...?
{Can't help myself, I loved that fuckin' movie and U.S. Marshall Samuel Gerrard's hard target search directive.}
The hardware store down where you live? The one where you purchased your broad brushes? Please, return them for a refund.
I'm tired of reading your 'paint work'.
Why is it that Chicago/Cook County corruption is not only tolerated, but actually defended by voters/residents? Because it doesn't rise to the 'National' level?? That's no excuse. Because they are Democrats??? That's not an excuse either.
