Corruption isn't a city-exclusive thing either, obviously. I can't think of one rural county commission I have been familiar with where permits are issued equally and without special considerations and there isn't one of them sleeping with the country clerk or something. Why, in my town, a school board member was sleeping with two of the school janitors, got them promotions and resigned when his wife found out.

And personally, I like gravel roads. Keeps the riff-raff out.

We've had this discussion in the past (Porgie and I). I know where he comes from and I understand him. My extended family is all down in his neck of the woods.

I agree, the Chicago machine is a player to be reckoned with. They put the first non-white guy in the White House and fwiw you know who your new mayor is.....

I'm still traveling to lots of little "big cities" around the midwest and in my business you see as much graft as you do here but in those tight knight, conservative places it gets overlooked.

It was brought up before that Illinois is the most corrupt, due to the statistics i.e. indictments and convictions.

I argue that we are the best at weeding out corruption according to those same statistics.

enough, I'm already gearing up for the next one to tell me how many people got shot last weekend.

Here's my point: https://wgntv.com/2019/06/19/feds-raid-chicago-ald-carrie-austins-34th-ward-office/

Austin is known for her close ties to Burke when she was the budget chair and he headed the Finance Committee.
