The main problem with them is they have to be put directly on the area of bleeding with rules out treating internal bleeding. Liver, kidney and splenic lacerations etc from trauma. I use Chitoseal with every angiogram to discharge patients earlier (3 instead of 6 hours). Polyheme, if the data is as good as expected, will likely be sucked up by the military for this use until the soldier can get to the operating room.

The other problem is with significant extremity hemorrhage. Those bandages are not all that effective if you have an open pumping artery.
