I think the people of Colchester would be very interested to know the man planning this big venture hasn't a shred of honesty in him or the ability to follow through on, well, pretty much anything as of 4:01 pm today.

When you apply for a job, what do they ask you for? References. Why? Because incompetant people are incompetant and dishonest people are dishonest, and knowing this information upfront helps weed out the bad apples.

Is there any reason to think Petar won't start tearing stuff down in Colchester only to bail out on that project halfway leaving the town in a bad spot?

Forget the board, I would suggest a few people call the mayor of Colchester on monday, let him know just how much Petar's word is worth before they let him start tearing stuff down.

I think the people of Colchester deserve to know what they are getting into and with whom. New property developments have many many problems. The people of this "tiny village" deserve to know.

HOWEVER, I respect your concern for them and appreciate that POV.

I disagree. Even the most well run construction projects can be a nightmare for all involved. I would want to know if there was a major development being planned in my area. I would definitely want to know the reputations of the involved parties.

Although I did not post on this website, I think it is almost a civic duty for people like us to make the citizens of Colchester aware of this con man.
Developers routinely ask for and get financial concessions, tax breaks, even outright grants from municipalities in exchange for building developments and creating jobs.
Do the citizens of Colchester need to know the character of a potential developer ? Do they need to know he is reliable and will do what he says he will do? You bet...in the end they will make their own decision.
