I think he or she is babbling about their self image about their personal achievements. Which is, of course, based upon the lens that is used. For a dedicated conservative, it could range from having the most foreclosures and evictions accomplished to the number of homeless people kicked. One of my "things" was being responsible for the planting of over 23 million tree seedlings, which is meaningless to people who care little about their environment, so even engaging with the fool would never accomplish anything other than showing how self-centered conservatives tend to be and both of us reinforcing our original beliefs anyway.
