#150551 RE: Koog #150550

I dumped the last of my option shares around 10 years ago, and just play a little with small positions now.

I was in agreement with you when I saw Intel mess up the cell phone and tablet market, but I'm not so sure now. Tablets are way down, PC's are down, cell phones are flat, and servers are way up. I think Intel may have called this inflection point right, but we will have to wait and see.

We can point at the whole process thing, but it was Intel being TOO aggressive with the 10nm goals, but since it is the last process for almost all of their factory footprint it makes sense to me that they would be aggressive. They did have the 14nm+ and 14nm++ nodes ready, so had a contingency for the 10nm disaster. From a factory point of view I am waiting to see how they do with the EUV transition, relative to samsung and TSMC. GF/IBM already folded on this one. Not sure if you have tracked the results but TSMC is down big, so flat for INTC is not so bad.

The damage done by Krzanich will take a LONG time to overcome.

That's not all. The bar set by Lisa and TSM just to mention a few is very high. Add to that there's evidence that Intel's cash is down to 3 billion dollars due to stock buyback. It seems that Intel has no will to fight but is rather doing the scorched-earth retreat.

Dr. Sue will give the keynote at computex tomorrow. Watch or listen if you dare.
