When you get angry, you get stupid. A friend of mine knows a lot of professional fighters (as in martial arts, etc), and they all say the same thing: if you get angry in a fight, you lose.
Anger causes tunnel vision. It narrows your senses, and thus significantly erodes your ability to make intelligent decisions. This, in part, is why angry people have a tendency to swear and say the same thing over and over: they have literally become too stupid to do anything that is remotely intelligent.
