I learned to pan gold while on wildfires in Alaska in my youth. I have a few nuggets but I consider gold fever roughly equivalent to opioid addiction. I sometimes watch that TV show, it is watchable now that Todd is not on there. A fat, bullshitting evangelical moron failure was just not entertaining to me.
But who could not root for the hot headed kid that was smart enough to learn to manage people finally, and became super successful.
