Actually quite right, I have been involved with a public company who has issued such shares and the vesting varies greatly depending on the contract, terms of service offered, length of service and so on.

Based on my direct experience with a NASDAQ company there are varied rules and nothing strict and set in stone for shares issued to consultants.

Simply stating one has vast knowledge without providing proof for anything is meaningless.

A situation that can cause shares to automatically vest is change in control of entity, so the merger of Rotman's can easily trigger all restricted shares to vest
