Do you have any stats or a chart on that?
no. i believe the historical comparisons were in the recent fleck column that was posted here within the last few days. sorry, no search function (non-sub).
are stocks a VALUE now?, you certainly can't ask any of the perma-bears floating around calling for the end of the world and the demise of the United States ala the Roman Empire, they thought stocks were of no value 6 months ago, they've been dead WRONG!
mmm. i think you're confusing 'value' and 'cost' here.
the horror. this reminds me of an extended conversation on the yahoo boards in winter '00 with one sir_bruce69, who was giving me similar reasons for not shorting ntap @ $145. (as an early employee of the company, his shares were worth over $5MM ... or at least for a few months after that. he finally sold some at $36.
but who knows, maybe in a few weeks they'll get back there.
but i digress. there is one thing you seem to imply that i certainly disagree with: if the markets are irrational, i can choose not to participate. oh, i can scalp a little here and there. but i'm not going to bet a big chunk of my portfolio on it, any more than i'd make a similar bet at circus circus.
