Is Apple trying to sell more stock or are they selling their product? Look below to see what dirty old Apple is doing, selling stock I guess.

This was a major Marketing ploy to show the number of days their player could be used in addition to songs. Ask MIR what she thinks.


Yesterday Apple unveiled their new music service, “The Apple iTunes Store” with the traditional hype and fanfare. Apple is using the Advanced Audio Codec (AAC) format at 128kbps. There are many articles on the web that detail the many features of this new service, but there has been little focus on the quality of the format Apple is using.

Apple's website boasted that their format was actually better than CD quality, which reminded me of their earlier claims that the 500mhz G4 tiBook was a “supercomputer.” How can a lossy format be better when the files are ripped from a CD? The main goal of a lossy format is to sound as similar to the uncompressed file as possible, in the smallest footprint possible.
