You are correct, anyone can grow weed. Canopy is growing a company that puts weed in products people want in order to do that, you make bottling facilities and chocolate manufacturers with kitchens that can pass an inspection anywhere at any time. The only reason Canopy even has any greenhouses is they have to right now so they can prove a secure supply line and control their genetics. The focus is not on the weed the focus is getting people who have never tried weed to get the product in a way they understand... in a bottle, in a chocolate bar or in a vape. They will still serve a portion of the community who like joints and bongs but those guys will be hard to get away from whoever they are buying from now. When dealers are dropping their prices so low they stop selling because it is not worth their time, the licensed producers will be there to sell nice buds to their customers. Canopy is doing clinical trials so their meds can replace opiates and they partnered with Constellation brands so they can replace alcohol, they really are not interested in competing with dispensaries.
