People have very little knowledge on court proceedings or how any of this works, most likely flippers were planning on a spike on Friday with some sort of court news and sold on the extension filed without realizing what it even is or means.
As others have stated this is all standard and actually good things, the original filing clearly stated they intent to counter sue and may need additional time in order to gather evidence from other parties so of course they would need an extension.
