#2624 RE: As I See It #2623

and how many network extenders have the telcos bought?

The trial where 5BARZ gave away several hundred?thousand? units was two years ago. If the tests were successful, why wouldn't the telcos have issued PO's? If 5BARZ had PO's from the big telcos in India, they should have been able to factor those invoices and produce some actual sales.

The problems with reception in India are well documented, as well as the public outcry for more efforts from the carriers. If the Network Extender is REALLY a solution, why haven't the telcos flocked to 5BARZ and offered to finance these units. It's been a couple of years. If the NE was a real solution, one of the telcos would have stepped up and built units to reduce complaints and turnover.

The talk about getting revs from data collection requires high numbers of units installed before the data becomes valuable. If 5BARZ couldn't get the NE financed, how is the router any different?

I do understand the plan for the telco to provide the solution, but I think they would find comp'ing a phone upgrade to be a superior approach, allowing the user to have an overall better experience (and generate more usage charges) nearly everywhere, not just around their NE. And I don't see hundreds/thousands of NEs being deployed in an attempt to fill in numerous gaps in the coverage of of a dying network. 3G will disappear in the presence of such a vast 4G rollout, and I have to believe their 4G network will offer superior coverage as I have experienced. In fact, I have heard directly that the 4G network in India is considered standard fare, and works great.
