If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.
1.) I know that my 'impression of truth' is made 'livelier' by its 'collision' with bat-shit crazy fact-challenged righty opinions, such as they are.
2.) If I had to carry 'intellectual collision insurance' my deductibles would go through the roof. It's a game of dodge-'em with Trumpanzees. :)
