And about his salary... since he produces no records or documents concerning his finances... there is no way to prove or disprove WHAT he does with the money. JimLur, Trump can accept responsibility for the shutdown, then give it away/attempt to shed that
responsibility by saying others are to blame as he has. It's not right, but Trump can, as he has.

He cannot donate, give away, or shed something he never accepted in the first place.

You, and your fellows, can see him as a generous person for refusing it in the first place,
but you can't rightly get away with saying he is donating something he never accepted.
