There is no exit strategy because the Neocon plan is to stay in Iraq forever. They plan on building 3-4 permanent US military bases there.


No disagreement on that. I think the Bushies would love that and I think that is what they are trying to do. However if things keep going the way they have been they are going to have to let the U.N. in and they might not get quite the military control they had hoped for. The aftermath of the war in Kosovo did not go as the American military machine would have liked.

However if a sub goal was to fracture Iraq into smaller more manageable parts that has already been achieved. Even if the U.N. takes full control. Do you think I am wrong? Can you see a way that Iraq would have all of its parts acting as a united war machine any time in this decade?

All they need is one Guantanamo type base with a 99 year lease. That's it.

Shouldn't be too difficult in a country that large.
