Well if we're going to write stories we can just as easily write others. Here's an equally plausible scenario:

Perhaps Pfizer offered a partnership with $100 million upfront but Leo thinks he can get $600 million upfront by formulating a pill and demonstrating p53 modulation in 10 patients in a phase 2a.

There's no reason to believe Pfizer isn't interested if we're assuming their involvement. To the contrary, the excellent preclinical results in the combo would suggest that Pfizer is watching very carefully and would be willing to pay much more once Leo derisks Kevetrin even more.
