Too just call it quits I just don't know.
Should we wait until people are so fed up that when soldiers come home they will be cursed and spit upon? We are not doing any better in the desert or mountains than we did in the jungle. The greatest fighting force in the world (both times) and we can not put an end to this crap? We should hire a Patton or MacArthur.
The mothers and fathers of the grunts bury their sons and daughters. For what? So Defense contractors can make billions and Career officers can pin on their fruit salad and wait for their promotions.
If the Generals can not find a way to win these wars, I'm not for wasting the lives of our sons and daughters. Especially when I see regional countries sit on their asses and watch us do what they should be doing for themselves. And I especially find it shameful for countries like England, France and Germany to criticize us for pulling out, when they have no ground troops there, fighting and dying.
On top of all that, we are or have spent trillions of dollars building walls, schools, hospitals, roads and airports in those areas, while ours at home crumble. Even Obama (in 2011) said it was time to come home and start investing in our own nation.
And lastly. The Mideast has been embroiled in tribal and religious wars and conflicts for centuries. Do we really think we can bring an end to that, when the participants are unwilling to stop?
Here is an idea. Let's bring our troops home, hire them as policemen for their own country and stop the wars in Chicago, Detroit, Philly and Baltimore, to name a few.
