If with the worlds greatest & most expensive military we could not clean up the mess in 17 years it's rather doubtful that it will be cleaned up in 17 more years. The Russians couldn't do, we can't do it, so the Afgans have to do it...sink or swim. Sad fact, to beat a guerrilla force you must become one and throw away the laws of war.
