AT least there is one federal organization willing to see the data for what it is and not what they want it to be (2016 data no less as well). 2017-18 will probably show more of the same. But big government lags behind as usual creating more problems than they solve from overly simplistic causality notions, guided by agenda oriented research.
My fear is good God fearing people will start to go out and get street drugs for their pain because caregivers are running scared. Yes there was plenty of well meaning over prescribing but to turn the tap off is just wrong. Like it or not, Motrin and Tylenol, post op algorithms, or group hugs won't cut it. The nanny state needs to chill.
