I subscribe to Sirius Radio, and I can tell that the big promoters (most recently the Who promoters for the new tour) arrange to have 24/7 Who playing on one of the Sirius music stations.
I am certain Sirius makes a nice profit on these kind of promotional tie-ins.
This is similar. Record companies like BMG and Sony have enormous promotional budgets. Les has excellent industry contacts. Everyone needs a medium to promote their artists through. The old MTV and VH1 are using most of their programming on non-music related content..hence the creation of TUBM. When I connect the dots, I see revenue coming in TUBM's direction. I could be wrong, of course.
I remember from the 80s that music companies would pay big $$ to get their music videos on MTV. I'm sure the prices have only gone up.
Somehow I cannot imagine this not turning into a multi dollar stock at some point, unless Les does something criminal or insanely stupid.
