The 18 miles is an ideal figure which, on hybrid cars is rarely ever reached.
Add in A/C in the warm months, heat & lights in the cold, plus the draining effects of the cold itself, and the battery-only range diminishes significantly.
It is very unlikely that anyone would run at 90 % + completely electric in that car. Which I know, incidentally, from memory, reading in Car & Driver of tests, or Automobile magazine, both of which I have subscribed to for decades.
And point of reference, you told me in the past that you lived on a yacht in Vancouver harbor, and worked from it, so it would seem your "commute" is a fantasy anyway ? You even sent me a video and claimed one of the people on the boat was you, remember ?
