Pods are Great but Torque in retail will send this soaring

And grow shows require lots of electricity, with it being off grid that would mean solar and battery system like the Tesla Power Wall to store enough juice to run through the day.

Last I checked neither are cheap

There is way more then 10k invested in the pods. They said the pods can be paid for after first harvest. Not bad for a turnkey off grid operation.
