The battered electorate is so bombarded with his lies that some believe him, just like a battered wife who has been told she is evil for so long that she believes it. The weak-willed people among us have been broken down to the level that they actually cheer him on.
That will never occur in my world.. those of us with self-respect have to reject the cartoon president just out of principle.
