BullNBear, like i said by the time the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act was signed Glass-Steagall had been gutted by decades of deregulation, pushed predominately by conservatives and the GOP.

See - Yes Clinton did admit he made a mistake. Yes. The Clinton administration was to an extent obviously caught up in the deregulation fervor of the day, and complicit in it. Their treatment of Brooksley Born is part of the evidence of that .. if Democrats had had control of the Congress at the time (i think the Republicans may have had control then for 6 years, not sure) would the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ever have been? .. i'm not so sure of that ..
