Ted, Rather than focus on Bbooth as a "failure", I think you should listen to this podcast from Confident ROI that Dennis McMurray did on Oct 10, 2018. It was just after V2 was released and at the end of the almost one hour V3 is mentioned. There is much about the history and the evolution of nFusz discussed, and my goodness, the last three months show an acceleration, when you look back. Also Dennis talks frankly about "missteps" made. This may give you a better feeling about where things are going and abate some of your fears.
