Couldn't a person actually say he will personally guarantee the $15/share and not be lying? If he files for bankruptcy and can't pay it, doesn't that let him off the hook? Rufus does need his support HSM group at a time like this, what a great way to have his "fold" continue to follow and forgive him if he can't come through. Certainly wouldn't want THAT crowd turning on him before he gets his day in court. Why not go out as a martyr. Man, this epitomizes the meaning of SUPEREGO.
