As to them Dodgers, the season is getting slim, sort of like Twiggy, and they're two games behind the Rockies.
Even if they got into the playoffs I believe they lack the consistency to do the grind.
They spent less money and got less and overall had a hard grind getting past that implausibly bad start. Injuries this year to key players Kershaw and Turner and others left holes that were difficult to fill.
There's always next year.
