A plant with full automation is far from “old”. A plant of this design could be run 24/7 with a staff of under 50 people total.

There was a need to change out some equipment...routine however. Also there was rumor that the wrong type of metal was used. Debunked...they used the correct stainless steel where it was need. Succinic acid has a protective effect on carbon steel. I think we are okay there but I too could be wrong. I have a friend that lives near and he too says there is no word on the street...except he believes the local and Canadian governments will not let it die. Even if they have to extend loans with favorable terms but we'll have to see.

Small town shenanigans isn’t out of the mix on that rumor I presume?

I grew up in a small town and sadly live in one now! For example: a young girl doesn’t put out on her prom date... the guy she went with starts a little slut story and gets his buddies to chime in.... I mean he spent a whole 300 dollars that night... least she could of done is service him? Right? We’ll that little girl is none the wiser... she sees an occasional glare or a whisper but isn’t aware of the slander... it happens.

In small towns the last opinion I would vest in is the gossip.... they have nothing better to do than to run their mouth and sadly even innocent people buy in to it, because there is nothing better to do...

How can a large business sink millions into a project and not have a 20 year projection sitting in front them with the plans to build a facility that can operate for that duration? Personally I think they built that in the perfect spot.... small town where the average IQ isn’t all that important but having a job where you can put food on the table is.... just the previous BOD couldn’t make it happen and ran short on cash flow- it happens.

I currently live in a small town with a factory not far away from me... it’s been open for 30+ years and the boiler should of been replace a decade ago... they have emergency shut it down a couple of times... if it blew it would level half the town!
Another factory a bit further away has been there for 80 years... they replace the parts that wear out... and modify when appropriate... but same footprint...

So for this plant to be out of date is really preposterous... we aren’t dealing with cyber security but a useable manufactured good.....

Hope this reply didn’t come across condescending... just I have a hard time swallowing that notion.
