The sooner they shoot at it and test it the better!
I'd be surprised if they haven't already put some rounds into it. Unfortunately it may take months to get some idea of the results.
Despite the many self proclaimed ballistics experts here no one knows the details of the testing. I imagine they'd fire at pure DS first to get the Young's Modulus to know exactly what they have. Then they could start to test layering with Kevlar or other materials. Just a guess but a high modulus number could slow the projectile enough to be stopped by a different layer.
