if the military wants oodles of DS for whatever purpose, can it be made overseas?

I've heard arguments from both sides. I don't know.
Either way we need proof of concept on a large scale.

I believe we are closer to oodles of production over seas rather than locally, that's assuming things go well in the first phase and KBLB gets approval for phase 2 in a timely manner.

The only way it happens locally is if the army pays the premium and will accept the delay to set mass production up in the US.

its entirely up to the military...we are talking ballistics and protective clothing..are they willing to rely on Vietnam for what they need to protect their troops?..

they know that relying on Vietnam is going to be a very questionable thing..and so far kblb hasnt proven themselves to be very reliable either...so is the military going to be ok with delays and issues with getting their troops what they need?..

doesn't seem likely to me...and the berry amendment doesn't seem to allow it anyway..so the army doesn't need to justify itself...

the only way an exception to the berry amendment is a possibility is if the army is ok with Vietnam production..if they are not then forget about exceptions..

which leaves us with the army paying a premium for stateside production..

either way is fine with me..

but I suspect the army will want much more reliable domestic production...and they have many hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to pay for it..

and that benefits kblb by having 2 places to mass produce..one foreign and one domestic...all of our eggs wont be in one basket..

even if we find another third world location, its not the same as having a domestic facility to crank out a large amount of product for a big and continuous contract..

a typhoon in Vietnam wipes out our facilities and half the trees?...devastating...but with domestic production, its not fatal to kblb…

imo, kim should not be looking to get an exception to the berry amendment..he should be trying to convince the army they need domestic production..
