I did not vote for John McCain. I didn't agree with his politics, or at least I rarely did. Yet I found him to be an honorable man and a gentleman for all that, unlike the churlish bitch in the White House.
To literally refuse to lower the flag to mark the passing of a third generation war hero, who served his country with faith and honor for decades... is beyond the pale. It was an act of a petty, vindictive child.
So while we had philosophical differences, John McCain respected the country and was worthy of its respect in return. He was worthy of my respect as well.
