School shootings, and the much wider debate on gun control, are a totally different kettle of whatever. Of course such
an issue of much broader horizon would be politicized. Those subjects could never be discussed without politicization.

Gosh moron, thank goodness we aren't "politicizing" the opioid epidemic... I wouldn't want people to all of a sudden start blaming heroin for the tragedy of what a few people choose to do with it.

Back in June, an Orlando man took his two kids and his two stepkids hostage in a 24-hour standoff with police that resulted in an officer being critically wounded and and the man killing all four children and himself. It was covered on all the national networks, but not one word that I'm aware of from Trump or his supporters. Why? My guess is the shooter wasn't black, Muslim, or Hispanic so of no political use to them.
