No, the SEC have nothing to do with private civil negotiations. The DTC is not going to announce anything either. This was a private negotiation that started months back.

Its not like there will be a profit. It will just make us whole

Depends on what you paid. Last trade and some interest is not just making whole.

Your brokerage is not going to discuss this issue because they were told by James Femia of the DTC that all their shares are covered.
