Please do not insult anyone’s intelligence by saying that people do not know how shorting works.
I will make this very simple. Over 4.5 million shares were shorted between August 1st - 3rd. Today’s volume was less than 2 million shares. If the shorters covered with 100% of the ~2 million dollar volume today, they will still be over 2.5 million shares short.
There is no way that the shorters were able to grab 100% of the shares sold today to cover. So, we still have a massive open position.
The short volume report should be out soon. I bet the short number will be higher than 0 today, which will add to the open short amount.
