Stuff happens. Apparently, this is what keeps us free. In the aftermath there's the usual thoughts and prayers... and the search for a motive. In this case no one found one, no one but Alex Jones I imagine anyway.
And then there's the real gem. No one could have imagined he would do something like this. Never gave an outward sign, they said. I have a thought. Maybe... just maybe having the firepower to outfit a couple platoons of light infantry is an outward sign of truly profound disturbance.
Does every one with a sexual fetish over guns end up committing mass murder? Thankfully, no. So by all means, let's cut 'em all some slack.
There were questions as to how no one saw a lone middle-aged white guy carrying such an arsenal of high powered weapons into a hotel room on the strip, and the answer of course was, "Why would you... Lots of people do that." It's Vegas.
And still there's a serious push to have reciprocal laws... so the next Stephen Paddock can target my state... legally. I shit you f'ng not.
Your friend's dad with the 150 guns and the gazillion rounds, was a deeply disturbed and ultimately dangerous individual. There isn't another way to put that. If he didn't have any grenades or M2 machine guns, that's probably because they were illegal. Give the NRA enough latitude and they'll put those on the street too. The fact that more of those guys don't go off and massacre people is good... But it happens often enough, and I don't really want to trust my well-being to their restraint. They've already revealed their frame of mind to me in no uncertain terms.
Next you can tell me how I should arm myself... It's the only solution. Go on with that psychotic BS
