I like how your argument is based on "saying stuff"

"Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were both clear about an individuals right to posess a gun on their own premises."

I'll refrain from correcting the grammar, but where are you getting that? You'll notice if I make a statement about what the Constitution says I quote the actual document and where I found that information.

Why does the tenth amendment overrule the elastic clause? It states

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

but since the elastic clause gives Congress very broad discretion over what's necessary and proper, they can clearly overrule the states on gun measures. If Congress feels the firearms are a pressing safety issue and they're empowered to provide for the general welfare of the citizenry, firearms would seem to be well within their purview.

I have another question.

"anything short of automatic weapons and larger armaments which are clearly military in nature"

The states can't allow me to own Predator drones? WTF? Why not? The Constitution is silent on Predator drones. That would seem to make it a tenth amendment issue by your logic. Be consistent.

But getting back to Jefferson and Madison and their belief in gun ownership.... Where is that? I'd like to read it.
