No one has even suggested taking guns off the streets, to even mention that is to repeat a gun lobby propaganda item.
Better regulation, a better regulated back-ground check system, and a ban on military type weapons would be a start. All those things
of course are now opposed by the NRA, as far as i know without checking. Maybe they are a bit more onside with background checks.
