The markets are much higher after Trump's first year in office. He has removed tons of regulations from businesses which have prevented job creation. Now, some folks can find a job rather than a hand out, the preferred method of the left. The markets have been weak for one reason, the tariff discussions going on between us, China, and others and how that will affect earnings. That is the main reason.

In 2017 -- the first year of Trump's presidency -- the market had one of the best years in its history, setting one record after the other. 2018 is off to a much more volatile start, but the S&P 500 is up nearly 2% year-to-date and the Dow is only down about 1.5%. As a financial advisor, I put a lot more stock (pun intended) in the S&P 500 because it represents a much larger swath of the overall market.
