IBM raised to outperform at CSFB, shares higher (IBM) By Emily Church
LONDON (CBS.MW) -- Credit Suisse First Boston upgraded its rating on IBM (IBM) to outperform from neutral overnight. Shares in euro trading in Frankfurt rose 93 cents to $87.88, dealers said. CSFB raised its 2004 earnings estimate to $5.10 from $4.80 a share, and put a $102 price target on the stock, representing 20-times its 2004 earnings estimate. "Due to the complexion of its installed base - mainly large, slower moving IT commercial customers, IBM is the ideal late cycle tech spending recovery play," the broker said. "Tech spending has recovered in consumer and SMB markets but has yet to experience meaningful recovery in large commercial accounts. We believe this is about to change."

Ah its good to see Im going against you again re: IBM : )

If it breaks over 92 ill be long gone and you can have your 100 : )

I dont think it will happen, and Ill be covering in a few days at around 85/86 thank you. Been a great year despite my fighting the tide so please- no speaches thank you hehe..

As for Zeevs target of 78 and below.. That will happen without me if it ever goes there which I doubt.. but A stock that makes a climb like IBM has based on about 5 upgrades? Thats something the tea leaves cant decipher and gives the bullish view you see : ) but my FA tells me its smelly.

You must be rolling in cash ya bum.. You have called this market right for quite some time. As always- congrats where congrats are due. Keep printing the cash man!

Jerry, I was addressing the distribution issue for August. I agree that IBM has turned up nicely. However, I think there are much better longs out there. IBM underperformed the S&P a good bit the last 3 months. IBM's recent strength looks like a trap to me.
