I know the story well. Watched it develop and all the ensuing Boland Amendments to prevent the illegal operations in Nicaragua. Watched all of the hearing in congress and Ollies testimony.
Reagan was the good guy duped by Bush. Bush ran the operation behind Reagans back. Bush was behind the assasination attempt on Reagan.. preposterous as it sounds...just as he participated in the JFK hit.
Ollie North is not your brightest star in the class. Far from it. this is why he only achieved the rank of Lt. Col. He was stupidly following Bush. They picked him on purpose. He was a patriotic soldier thinking he was fighting the good fight. Patriotic yes, and that patriotism took him into clandestine illegal operations. Just ask him if he approved of all the drug sales and thousands of kids and soldiers getting hooked on cheap crack they dumped on the streets in California. Yes, Ollie is a good guy. The NRA has plenty of members who are not tainted with conviction. This will give the anti gun nuts more "ammo" to discredit the NRA. I vote no.
