I only play with four or five positions at once so it is not quite the problem that it is for an "active trader" like you.
Since the market, at any given time is more variable than predictable, I would be hard pressed to set a plan of exit on entry. For example, I would hate like hell to grab the first twenty cents on each trade and let it go at that. Usually, I give the thing a chance to start looking ugly before I close the position. On the other hand, if the trannies are down fifty, the Dow is slipping and a stinker like HPQ miraculously begins to go the other way, I usually wait it out a bit. <g>
