I agree with your valuation and just to throw in a little speculation, the market tends to react based on future, and if NSM shows growth after the merger, in particular based on KKR or JPM bringing in some business, then the pps will react positively with a higher PE. Same income, same number of shares, but higher PE = higher PPS.
