we never want the dems to ever regain power. disaster!
I have to disagree with you there. I have been a liberal for the better part of my 70 years. And many of the good things that we enjoy were given to us by Democrats.
That being said, I agree, the current bunch that are leading the Democratic Party need to be ushered to a place in history. A new leadership could perhaps put the Democrats back within the mainstream of America. The problem with the current leadership is their quest for an unchallenged reign of power. Even to the point of threatening our democracy. Building a constituency by allowing an open door to immigrants, protecting criminal illegal aliens, identity politics to keep us divided, buying votes with unbridled social programs and using our intelligence and justice agencies to subvert our elections is not working for them. Most people are not blind to all that and have suffered on account of it. Thus, we have chosen to break the mold, with regard to the last presidential choice.
It is evident that the Democratic Party is in financial distress. Therefore they hesitate to get rid of Pelosi and Schumer, who raise vast sums of money from New York and California. Hopefully, they will realize that they would benefit more financially if their funds came from a more diverse area of America and not just the coasts. And in order to do that, they must abandon their fringe political agenda. That will never happen if the same power brokers continue to lead the Democratic Party. The Democrats are in a sorry state right now. And the transition will not come quickly.
And don't think for a minute that republicans would be any better if they were left unchallenged. Just like the checks and balances of each department of our government keeps balance within the government, a multi party system of politics does the same to assure no one party has carte blanche with regard to going awry.
Perhaps a new Centrist Party will come out of all this. We have had a couple of failed attempts to have a third party, because the 2 major parties joined forces to squelch that. But, the day will come when America will toss off the shackles of extremism, simply because it has become gridlock that achieves nothing but animosity between rival factors and a public that can not come together to even discuss politics without recrimination.
Makes me sick to enter a debate without having to suffer insult and finger pointing, rather than intelligent discussion of issues at hand.
