RE: Why don't all the lazy people on this board do a bit of DD and maybe call the company or the IR firm instead of sitting around getting their DD from an investor forum board? They are a phone call away.

For the same reason everyone believes headlines and not what is actually in the story. It's a drive-by society and not many folks out there care to do the work.
