>> I'm convinced AMD is a $15 stock. We probably won't get there this year, but I think the journey starts in Q4.

The journey starts on the day it becomes clear that the purchase of ATI for $5.4B will be dilutive to earnings for at least a year. However, I don't think it will get to 15. More like 20.

Chipgeek, thanks for your thoughts.

Re: If I remember right, you bought those INTC calls right before earnings, and they pretty much became worthless after the earnings report was underwhelming. I thought that was a crazy move at the time, but it obviously worked out in the end.

You do remember correctly, and I was a bit discouraged at the time, but it looks like the market is finally rewarding INTC a bit, so I figure it's always a good time to cash out one's earnings and be happy about it.

I think AMD price hinges on COGs for Q3. I believe the revenue will come in close to the expected $1.3B number, but I think COGs could come in higher than many are expecting. AMD has been ramping fab 36, and that costs money. I believe fab 30 is still running full out, hence COGs is going to be higher... the only question is how much higher.
