No, No, NO, I am a novice in many respects. I was looking at another stock that was going to give something to shareholders of record on a certain date. Was asking if the stock would have had to be bought 3 days before the record date to cash in. Informed that you must have bought it 3 days before the date the event was to happen so that sale/purchase is completed. Otherwise the original owner would reap the rewards.
