At this stage, any therapy that uses allo- or autogeneic cells (meaning cells from the same (auto) or from a different individual but within the same species ... HUMAN that is (for most of us ;)) will be out of reach for most of us at this point in time. As I said before, this is personalized medicine and will only benefit the happy few who can afford paying half a million or more for treatment. Also, I cannot envisage any insurance willing to cover such costs.
In all, the technology is incredible powerful and especially with CAR-T or NK cells, we have seen some great results (> 80% or full remissions in specific cancers), but we are at least a decade away from seeing these applications becoming standard ... IF ever ... since technology seems to come up with alternatives that achieve the same efficiencies for a fraction of the cost ...
